Educational Qualification– IndiaPost, Gramin Dak Sevak(GDS) Vacancies, 2023
Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.
Eligibility Criteria– IndiaPost, Gramin Dak Sevak(GDS) Vacancies, 2023
The applicant should have studied the local language i.e. (Name of Local language) at least up to Secondary standard [as compulsory or elective subjects].
Knowledge of Cycling: Knowledge of Cycling is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts.
Knowledge of Computer is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts.

Rs.12,000 – 29,380/-
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
Rs.10,000 – 24,470/-
Age Limit
Minimum 18 years and Maximum 40 Years as on closing date (11th June 2023). However, the government provides age relaxation for certain categories in accordance with the Government of India rules.
Category wise age relaxation details are provided below –
Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): No relaxation
Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC: 13 years
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST: 15 years
Selection Procedure
For the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) in Indian Post, the applicants will be shortlisted for engagement on the basis of a system generated merit list. This method ensures a fair and unbiased selection process, giving every eligible candidate an equal opportunity. The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/Points to marks in Secondary School Examination of 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals. Passing of all the subjects as per the respective approved board norms is mandatory.

Candidate belonging to all category is required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/-.
The SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates need not pay the application fee.
